David Diamond

David Diamond (Founding Artistic Director of Theatre for Living and the director of the project) has directed over 550 community-specific projects on issues such as racism, civic engagement, violence, addiction, street youth, intergenerational conflict and homelessness. He has worked throughout Canada, the USA and Europe, as well as in Namibia, New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, Rwanda, Palestine and Singapore, and has pioneered the development of live, interactive Forum television and web casting. David will not be present for the screening.

Created and performed by mental health patients and caregivers this powerful interactive Forum Theatre production played in Vancouver BC and then toured into 28 communities throughout BC and Alberta, bringing Indigenous and non-Indigenous health organizations together into working partnerships. The play was then was broadcast, live on the web and reached a global audience. How are we all being asked to adjusted to a maladjusted mental health system? Produced by Theatre for Living (formerly Headlines Theatre) the project was used to humanize what has become a mechanized mental health policies at grassroots levels.
